I write this having just finished watching the Doctor Who episode Voyage of the Damned (I think... I'm a little hazy on the title), which I quite enjoyed (yes, it had Kylie Mingoue in it. I liked her in the role. Shut up), and drinking some hot Milo and listening to the 1812 Overture. None of that is relevant, but I felt like sharing.

Actually, now that I think about, it is relevant to something I'd like to talk about: Adaptation Fever. Its something I get a lot, whenever I read or see something awesome and scifi. Basically, I feel compelled to warp, modify, or generally mutilate TransStellar so that it takes on aspects of the target. Usually, these fevers pass in a few days, if they even last that long, but they're a constant annoyance. In fact, one of the reasons I love Doctor Who is because its genre is so different from TS, while still being scifi (or "skiffy" as John calls out particular brand of rubber science), that I can admire it without suffering Adaptation Fever.

Of course, I then start feeling a trifle inadequate compared to the coolness of this show... Which is damned silly, and will likewise pass.

Now that you've put up with my neuroses, for the first time in a while, I have a link to a webcomic: Your Mum's Basement

Quick warning: Next week's comic might be a day late, as I'll be at Gen Con Oz. Wish me luck!

Not John's Uplink

John is in Queensland, in preparation for Gen Con Oz.

Yeah, he never seems to be around to say anything when I actually feel like being chatty. Oh well.

As my space is looking aweful full, I'll hijack John's to tell those of you into running RPGs to go check out You Meet In A Tavern, previously Treasure Tables, where you can find a community of friendly and helpful game-masters from across the globe, willing to help with suggestions and witty banter.
