Jarrah's Uplink
Coz nothing's happened there in weeks, I draw your
attention to Our Forum!
I'm mildly peeved because I found some weird and
cool things this week, but I can't show you because I want to
use them as RPG plots, and all my players read this site.
Oh well, have a link to Alpha
Shade. I haven't actually read it yet, but it was recommended
by Anna (Dari's original creator), so its coming to you on good
authority.
It's 4am. I'm off to bed.

John's Uplink
We can't all be Mozart. It's a realization I'm
afraid slowly dawns on most of us: the realization of the fact
that we're not going to be the next Einstein or Churchill; or
even the next Ledger or Keating... when we are born, we are full
of possibilities and dreams: the future is made up of a thousand
open flowers. We know we can be anyone. As we grow older, however,
we prune down those branches, move from wilder dreams to the more
concrete realities of the world in front of us.
It's true. We're just faces in a crowd to everyone outside of
our monkeysphere.
We're not special and we're not unique; we're all people and we're
all in this together. And that's alright, because it's not individuals
that change the world: it's societies and groups of people working
hard together who make the world a better place. The power to
change the world is in your hands... but it's also in the hands
of everyone else.
The truly successful societies of the modern day are those who
harness the power and potential of the many and not the few: competitive
markets and the internet, mass democracy and equal freedom. Take
this to heart, and understand that you are part of something that
will assuredly change the world. |
